Mission

The mission of the not-for-profit DSDM Consortium is to be the leading enabler of knowledge and learning for successful project delivery.

Organisational structure

To use the DSDM framework in any commercial way membership of the DSDM Consortium is required. DSDM is owned by the DSDM Consortium. The Consortium is a not-for-profit organisation. DSDM is available free of charge for individuals to use internally within their organisation.Anyone offering any DSDM related products or services external to their own organisation must become a Licensed Reseller of DSDM or they will be in breach of DSDM Consortium's copyright

Board of Directors

There are eleven directors, ten of whom are elected by the Members. Any individual member may offer themselves for election to the board at the Annual General Meeting. The Board of Directors is supported by a small staff at offices located in Ashford Kent, United Kingdom.  

 

 

Barry Fazackerley
DSDM Consortium:  Chairman
Steria
Barry Fazackerley is an Executive Consultant at Steria and has been involved with the Consortium since its inception in 1994. He has been a member of the Board since 1998 and was elected chairman in 2001. He is an Certified DSDM Practitioner, Trainer, Examiner and a Certified Facilitator and GlobalFN Assessor. He has had many papers published on various Application Development topics including DSDM, JAD and Offshore Development. He has spoken at several leading conferences representing DSDM and is a strong supporter and signatory of the Agile Alliance. He has been a key architect in strengthening DSDM's profile as an agile approach. Within Xansa, Barry has implemented DSDM for major organisations in Europe and North America transforming the organisations' delivery capability. He is a member of the UK Institute of Directors.

Mary Henson
Global Operations Director
Mary is a permanent board member and has been involved with the DSDM Consortium since 1995. She is responsible for the management of the day to day running of operations including membership administration, certification and training.

 

Steve Messenger
DSDM Consortium: Vice Chairman 
Napp Pharmaceuticals
Steve is currently Business Support Manager for Napp Pharmaceuticals. He has helped to implement agile methods, and particularly DSDM, into the highly regulated pharmaceutical industry. Steve is a Certified DSDM Practitioner, Trainer and Examiner and has co-authored papers on DSDM and PRINCE2, Applying DSDM in offshore environment and Using DSDM with PMBOK. Steve is also on the Consortium editorial board. Accredited in project management techniques such as PRINCE2 Steve still firmly believes the best training is through experience and in his 30 years has undertaken  all of the IT roles from trainee programmer through to project manager for large 6 figure projects. 

Vic Page

Vic Page
Kingston University

Vic’s initial training was in electrical and electronic engineering. He worked for British Telecommunications (BT) from 1979 to 1997, initially as a network engineer, then in a number of software development roles and latterly as a software development team leader. During this time, he undertook postgraduate study in information systems design. After leaving BT, he worked as a lecturer at London Guildhall University; London Metropolitan University; and the University of Westminster. Vic joined Kingston University in 2007 where he is course director for the postgraduate programmes in Electronic Commerce, Information Systems and IT & Strategic Innovation. Vic's current research investigates the mitigation of obstacles within an agile information systems development environment.

 

Andrew Craddock
NLighten
Andrew is an independent Agile Project Management Practitioner, Consultant, Trainer and Coach. He is a Certified DSDM Practitioner and Trainer and has over 10 years experience managing and helping others manage Agile software development and business change projects - almost exclusively in blue chip organisations. He is a core member of the next version work group. Andrew spent 13 years working for British Airways with his last three years as Process Improvement Manager for the IT department managing a programme of work to switch the IT project management and software development process from an outdated waterfall approach to one based on the Agile DSDM framework

Hugh Ivory
Best Outcomes
Hugh Ivory is a Business Analyst and Program Management Practitioner, with twenty five years experience facilitating IT enabled change. Hugh founded Best Outcomes in 2000 but has been heavily involved in the work of the Consortium since 1999, and with his organisation has worked to promote the DSDM framework in Ireland. Educated at Trinity College, Dublin, Hugh is a Certified DSDM Practitioner, Certified Facilitator and holds a Graduate Membership of the British Computer Society.  Hugh is a core member of the next version work group with the responsibility of managing the development of the publications which will support the new release of DSDM.

Isobel Nicholson

 

Isobel Nicholson
University of Central Lancashire
Isobel represents the new academic interest group that supports lecturers who want to teach DSDM. Since 1996 Isobel has been teaching DSDM to students in Preston. They use video to look at what happens in facilitated workshops about software requirements In the seventies Isobel worked as a software developer and project manager. In the eighties she researched how software developers talk with stakeholders about their software requirements. During this time she had three children and earned her living teaching computing students.

Isobel now:
  • Teaches computing students how to discuss software requirements with people
  • Researches inter-agency collaboration over software development
  • Leads a program of eleven inter-agency urban regeneration projects
  • Supervises PhDs: internet accessibility, harmonious design, co-managing diabetes

Keith Richards
Keith Richards Consulting
Keith has 25 years experience in I.T. and project management. He is a Certified DSDM Practitioner and Trainer, PRINCE2 Practitioner and Trainer and a certified facilitator. Keith lead the work group that managed the delivery of the latest version of DSDM, Atern, which was launched in April 2007.  Currently specializing in the hybrid approach of using DSDM with PRINCE2, Keith has worked with a wide range of clients from 'DotComs' to large government organizations, Keith focuses on the practical and cultural sides of changing the process for delivering business benefit.

Barbara Roberts
Independent
Barbara Roberts is a Certified DSDM Consultant, Practitioner, Trainer, Examiner and a Certified Facilitator. She has been actively involved with the DSDM Consortium since running one of the DSDM early adopter projects in 1995. Barbara is responsible for professional development on the board and is also on the editorial board, as well as being a core member of the new version work group. Barbara has used DSDM in organisations of all sizes, ranging from small software development companies to large government organisations, introducing and rolling out DSDM and piloting and mentoring DSDM projects and people. Currently Barbara is mentoring and supporting the roll-out of DSDM in a major a finance organisation, both in the UK and India.

Dot Tudor
TCC Training & Consultancy
Dot is a Fellow of the British Computer Society (FBCS) and Director of GlobalFN. Dot is a Certified DSDM Practitioner, Trainer and examiner and is a core member of the next version work group.  She is a graduate in Mathematics, Statistics and English and has worked as facilitator, business analyst, systems analyst, programmer, systems implementer and project manager, with a wide variety of projects in both the public and private sectors. She specialises in project management, facilitation and business development methodologies, particularly Agile approaches, and supplies facilitation, consultancy and training both nationally and internationally.

 

Kirk Williams
Atos Origin 
Kirk has worked in the IS/IT industry for over 20 years, undertaking a broad range of software development and managerial roles for a variety of customer organisations. Kirk is a Certified DSDM Practitioner and Examiner and has been involving in marketing and partnerships as well as being initially responsible for developing the relationship between DSDM and PMI.Kirk was introduced to DSDM in the mid-1990's, when he played a key role in introducing Sema Group's Apollo/DSDM methods and principles in application management contracts. He is currently working as a consultant in a pre-sales  environment.
